Only two chits remained unopened.
Yash stared at his for several seconds before taking a deep breath.
"When did you first feel invisible?"
A faint smile crossed his face.
"I don't remember."
The answer caught everyone off guard.
"I think it happened so slowly that I never noticed. In group projects, no one chose me. During lunch, if I was absent, nobody asked where I was. Teachers remembered everyone's names before mine."
He looked down at his hands.
"After a while... I stopped raising my hand in class. I stopped trying to join conversations. It felt easier to disappear than to keep reminding people I was there."
No one interrupted.
Aashi's eyes filled with tears.
She remembered the first day, when even Mrs. Sharma had accidentally counted only six students.
Yash let out a quiet laugh.
"I guess being invisible has one advantage."
Everyone looked at him.
"You become really good at noticing people."
The room fell silent once again.
For the first time, no one saw Yash as the boy who blended into the background.
They saw him exactly as he had always hoped to be seen.
Present.
